Wasabi Potato Pie

Ingredients: 6 servings

Pie pastry10 oz / 300 g / 10.6 oz
Potatoes, 1/4" diced1 cup / 300 g / 10.6 oz
Large eggs3 pcs
Double cream (or heavy cream)2/3 cup
Cheddar cheese, 1/4" diced1 cup / 100 g / 3.5 oz
Cooked ham, 1/4" diced1 cup / 100 g / 3.5 oz
S&B Wasabi Paste4 tsp / 20 g / 0.7 oz
Green onions trimmed
and halved lengthwise

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Place a 23cm (9") square (or round) x 3cm (1 1/5”) deep fluted tart tin on a baking tray. On a lightly floured surface, roll the pastry into a square (or circle) about 5cm wider than the tin. Carefully lift the pastry into the tin and gently press into the base and sides, taking care not to stretch the pastry. Trim any excess pastry and prick the base with a fork.
  2. Place potatoes, cheese and ham in the base of the tart case.
  3. Beat eggs, add cream and wasabi in a bowl and season to taste. Pour it into the tart case.
    Put the spring onions on top and cook for 25 to 30 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.
